Construction Material Price Indices January 2015 - September 2023
The composite index for construction materials accelerated to an annual increase of 6.1 percent in September 2023, surpassing the headline inflation rate of 5.4 percent. This brings the average increase in the first nine months to 6.5 percent, compared to 12.3 percent in 2022. Around a third of materials however are still increasing by double digit rates, including Ceiling Boards, Sand, Bricks, Mining Machinery, Construction Tyres and Bituminous Mixtures. The Reinforcing Metal index declined by 8.5 percent y-y.
The composite index (Contract price adjustments provision or CPAP) for domestic buildings accelerated to an annual increase of 5.3 percent and 4.8 percent for commercial and industrial buildings.
