Construction Liquidations January 1994 - March 2026

A further 17 companies were liquidated in the construction sector during the 1st quarter of 2026, representing a 42 percent q-q increase, the highest across all sectors.  Although there were no compulsory liquidations reported, voluntary liquidations showed a notable increase compared to the same period in 2025.  In total, with fewer compulsory but more voluntary liquidations, the construction sector ended flat on a year on year basis, that points to fragile but stable environment, where sustained improvement is still lacking, maintaining pressure on margins and cashflows, particular amongst smaller contractors.
