CRMS Dashboard April 2026
Construction counters show short-term recovery momentum, but year-on-year performance highlights a still selective and uneven sector rebound
Listed construction-related companies on the JSE showed modest improvement in April 2026, with the sector broadly tracking a slight uptick in overall market sentiment. Month-on-month performance points to early signs of stabilisation, particularly among property funds and selected materials suppliers, while contractor performance remains mixed.
Compared to a year ago, the picture is more positive, with several companies recovering from a low base. However, the rebound is uneven across the sector, with stronger gains in materials and selected counters, while others—especially traditional contractors—continue to lag.
Overall, the data suggests that confidence in the construction sector is gradually improving, but remains cautious and selective, reflecting ongoing structural challenges and an uncertain project pipeline.
