IMF Commodity Price Indices January 1990 - April 2024

The All Commodity price index, published by the IMF, recorded a 23 percent y-y decline in 2023, and on average fell by 1.6 percent y-y in the first four months of 2024.  The All Metals index ended flat in 2023, but a stronger increase in the Precious Metals Index (up 8.1 percent y-y up to April 2024), pulled the overall metals index higher by 2.9 percent. The Base Metals index ended lower by an average of 1.5 percent in the first four months of 2024.
