Building Plans Approved by Province and Type Jan 1994 - August 2023

The number of SQM approved for private building construction, affecting the pipeline of potential investment, declined by 26.4 percent y-y in August 2023, bringing the overall decline for the first eight months to -14.3 percent. This brings the overall value of these plans to R69.6bn, a contraction of R8.2bn compared to the same period in 2022.
