Retail Trade Sales: Hardware April 2023

Retail trade sales of hardware, paint and glass increased by 11.4 percent y-y in April 2023, coming off a low base in April 2022. On average sales rose 4.2 percent y-y in current prices during the first four months of 2023, representing a 3.5 percent y-y decline in real terms (constant 2019 prices). This follows the 7.5 percent y-y decline in 2022. By comparison overall retail trade sales fell 1.1 percent on average in real terms during the period January - April 2023.
