Few Provinces the Exception as SA Building Construction Pipeline remains in the red

 

The estimated value of public sector building tenders released during the last 12 months up to February 2025, contributed an estimated 13 percent to the total value of the building pipeline, including the value of private sector building approvals over the same period.  There are strong provincial differences, for example Limpopo (49%), Eastern Cape (50%) and North West Province (40%) where the public sector plays a much bigger role compared to the national average. Within these provinces, the public sector can play a countercyclical role to mitigate the decline in private investment, thereby reducing the impact on employment and investment in the local construction sector in the province.... download the full review here (available to subscribers)
