Consumer and Producer Inflation (CPI) March 2025
Headline inflation slowed to 2.7 percent in March 2025, as administrative prices decelerate to an annual increase of 1.8 percent. Despite inflation easing to below 3 percent, upside risks remain influenced by heightened global uncertainties and currency volatility that is yet to show the full impact on the economy and inflation. Inflationary expectations remain muted, but showing some acceleration during 2026, that may create the space for the SARB to raise interest rates, although the intention to do so was not projected in the SARB's latest forecast report (March 2025).
