PULSE - Provincial Capital budgets up 9.6 percent in 2023/24

According to information released by Treasury, aggregated provincial capital budgets on buildings and other fixed structures and capital transfers to households (human settlements) that represents over 80% of total capital expenditure, is projected to increase by 9.6 percent y-y in 2023/24 to R50.3bn, from and estimated expenditure of R45.9bn in the 2022/23 financial year.  This means that capital budgets were increased by R4.4bn, with Kwazulu Natal showing the strongest increase of R2bn, or 20.4 percent to R12.2bn.  Western Cape increased their capital budget by R1.4bn, or 20.5 percent to.....
