PULSE - Provincial Capital budgets up 9.6 percent in 2023/24

According to information released by Treasury, aggregated provincial capital budgets on buildings and other fixed structures and capital transfers to households (human settlements) that represents over 80% of total capital expenditure, is projected to increase by 9.6 percent y-y in 2023/24 to R50.3bn, from and estimated expenditure of R45.9bn in the 2022/23 financial year. This means that capital budgets were increased by R4.4bn, with Kwazulu Natal showing the strongest increase of R2bn, or 20.4 percent to R12.2bn.
