National Construction Awards, Tenders, Postponements – December 2022

The nominal value of construction projects awarded increased by 12 percent y-y in 2022, with a 26 percent increase in the value of civil projects awarded. The actual number of projects awarded is still lower, down 20 percent y-y. Tender activity also disappointed with fewer projects put out to tender during 2022, down 15 percent y-y, although the estimated value of civil projects released on tender increased by a nominal rate of 30 percent y-y. Cancellations were also lower, except for cancellations in the social housing sector. Postponements also moderated compared to 2021.
