High Impact Project Announcements February 2024 (New)

Please find our latest addition: "The High Economic Project Listing" is a new dataset, updated monthly, to monitor the announcements of projects that will have a significant economic impact, either nationally or within a provincial landscape. These projects are generally in early planning or discussion stages. However, it is important to note the potential development of these projects and the impact it may have on the geographical landscape.

New high impact project announcements for the first two months of 2024 were dominated by PPP projects (56 percent) or an estimated R18bn. Large public sector projects amounted to R12.6bn, with private sector projects below an estimated R2bn. . Through our research projects worth around R444bn were announced in 2023 compared to R372bn in 2022.
