Estimated Civil Tender Values: March / April 2023

The estimated value of civil tenders released in March and April 2023 was significantly stronger compared to the same period in 2022, up 214 percent y-y, with a particular strong increase reported in March 2023.  According to our records, 17 CIDB Grade 9 projects were released on tender in March (spread across Gauteng, Kwazulu Natal and Gauteng), down to 5 in April.  The value of road projects out to tender increased five fold during this period.  The good performance in March supported the 84 percent y-y increase during the first four months of 2023, with the strongest increase in Gauteng, followed by the North West Province.
