CRMS Dashboard August 2025

The Company Results Monitor Service (CRMS) index is a composite index of listed JSE companies’ performance in terms of market capitalisation values, active in the South African Construction Sector. 

Retailers lead with robust gains in August 2025

The CRMS Index rose by 2.5% in August 2025 following 3.5% gains in July. Weaker market capitalisation values in the Contractor and Supplier's sub-indices were offset by a robust increase in the Retailer's sub-index (Cashbuild and Italtile), and a moderate increase in the Property Fund's sub-index. Italtile and Cashbuild posted the strongest gains in August, followed by Vukile and Redefine Properties. On average the composite CRMS index has recovered by 8.6% y-y in the first eight months of 2025 compared to market values recorded during the same period in 2024, with only Retailers and Suppliers still underperforming against last year.
