Cement imports were weaker during the first eleven months of 2022, down 30 percent to 712 161 tons, even though over 100 000 tons were imported during the month of November 2022 (mainly from Vietnam) at an average FOB (Fee on Board) rate of R1 167/t. The FOB value of cement imported was R568m for the period January to November 2022, compared to R636m and 1.1mt in 2021.
