This widening gap underscores a two-speed construction environment, where momentum is fragmented and heavily dependent on isolated pockets of activity.

Overall, the latest data reinforces a cautious outlook for the sector, with weak investment conditions, uneven demand, and structural pressures still constraining a meaningful, broad-based recovery in South Africa’s construction market.
