Building Plans Approved by Province and Type Jan 1994 - September 2023

The number of SQM approved for private building construction, affecting the pipeline of potential investment, declined by 23.8 percent y-y in September 2023, bringing the overall decline for the first nine months to -15.3 percent. This brings the overall value of these plans to R77.5bn, a contraction of R10.4bn compared to the same period in 2022.
