Provincial Construction Pipeline shows moderate growth as at Q1 2024

Based on key construction indicators released for the 1st Quarter of 2024, the annual change in the Provincial Construction Pipeline Model (PCPM) decelerated to a nominal increase of 3.3 percent by the end of March 2024, down from a 4.1 percent increase at the end of December 2023. Significant provincial variations are evident, with provinces such as KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, and the Free State experiencing above-average increases. Conversely, the pipeline in Gauteng, the Western Cape, and the North West Province has contracted over the past 12 months. Notably, the rate of decline in the Western Cape has slowed to -7.7 percent, while it has accelerated in Gauteng to -15.8 percent. To download the full provincial dashboard please click here
