Public Sector Building Tender Values Dataset March 2026

Public Sector building activity showed a modest uptick in 2025, with the estimated value of tenders released up close to 7 percent in nominal terms, supported largely by an uptick during the second half of 2025. After what was a slow start to the year, with tender values significantly weaker in January 2026, levels improved during February and March, that resulted in a modest uptick overall for the 1st quarter of 2026. Provinces that recorded lower tender values include Western Cape, North West Province, Limpopo, and Free State. Eastern Cape showed the strongest increase in nominal terms, followed by Kwazulu Natal and Northern Cape.
