Project Watch List

The Project Watch List tracks high-impact construction projects and investment announcements, generally valued at more than R1 billion. It monitors new developments and updates to existing projects across key sectors, providing an early view of where future construction activity and investment are likely to be concentrated. It currently tracks 475 projects and 508 dated developments. 

Recent project updates include the addition of the proposed R6.7bn Blue Mountain Racing Grand Prix development in the Western Cape and the proposed US$3.5bn Dangote petroleum-products pipeline linking Namibia, Botswana and South Africa, which remains subject to verification. Existing project updates include development funding for the Saldanha Hydrogen DRI project, a R26bn funding requirement for the national TRIM rail-rehabilitation programme, and continued progress in converting the R395.8bn ISA Construction Book pipeline of approximately 110 projects into procurement and tender opportunities.
