Metro's Infrastructure Capital Expenditure by Type and Asset: March 2024

Monitoring Metro's capital expenditure on infrastructure is an ongoing challenge, with infrastructure expenditure often hidden amongst broader capital expenditure functions. However, the following dashboard, may provide insight on not just annual budgetary allocations that will impact construction, but also current actual expenditure trends. The dashboard provides a summary by metropolitan area, for the type of infrastructure (new, upgrades and maintenance) and by type of asset (road, stormwater, sanitation, electrical, water supply, solid waste, and rail infrastructure as well as community and recreational facilities and housing).

The dashboard provides an easy to use interface to easily compare infrastructure trends between the various Metro's for the 2022/23 and 2023/24 financial period with actual expenditure updated quarterly.
