Estimated Civil Tender Values: July 2023

Mpumalanga took the spotlight in terms of the estimated value of civil projects out to tender in July 2023, with projects worth close to an estimated R4bn out to tender, with Limpopo at just under R3bn. Several higher grade 9 CIDB projects were put out to tender in these two provinces that impacted the tender values. The value of tenders continue to increase with another robust 58.6 percent y-y increase in July 2023, supported by Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Western Cape and Kwazulu Natal. The value of road projects tendered more than doubled compared to the same month in 2022. Overall tender increased by 100 percent y-y (or R32bn) in the first seven months of 2023 compared to 2022.
