CRMS Dashboard March 2023
The composite CRMS index slipped 4.6 percent m-m in March 2023 to 66.7, following a monthly (revised) decrease of 2.6 percent in February. All of the sub-indices contracted in March, with the strongest decline in the suppliers composite index, followed by retailers. The contractors and property funds sub-indices contracted by similar rates between 3 percent and 4 percent m-m. On a year on year basis the CRMS index is down 20.6 percent, with just the residential property fund index showing a marginal gain on a year on year basis (coming off a lower base in 2022). Compared to pre-covid levels (2019), the supplier sub-index is the only index that showed a recovery post-covid, up 12 percent on average in 2023 compared to 2019. All the other sub-indices are still well below pre-covid levels, down by between 11 percent and 37 percent by comparison to 2019.
