The construction labour force expanded by 9.7 percent q-q in the 2nd quarter of 2022 to 1 177 000. The growth in the labour force was supported by a 15 percent q-q increase in the formal sector. Western Cape was the only higher capacity province that showed a drop in the labour force, while Gauteng recorded the strongest increase.
