Wholesale trade sales of construction and building materials increased by 21 percent m-m (current prices) in May to R14.1bn although sales were just marginally higher compared to the same month in 2021, up 0.5 percent y-y. In real terms, adjusted for inflation, sales increased by 2 percent y-y for the first five months of 2022.
