Construction Liquidations January 1994 - July 2026

Fewer companies in the construction industry were liquidated during the first seven months of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025, although the rate of decline was slower than that recorded across all sectors. More concerningly, voluntary liquidations increased by 3%, compared with a 5% decline nationally. While the easing in compulsory liquidations is encouraging, the increase in voluntary closures suggests that operating conditions remain challenging for construction businesses. Close to 40 construction companies were liquidated during the period, the majority voluntarily.
