Formal employment in the construction industry fell by 5.1 percent y-y in the 1st quarter of 2023, which was the strongest decline across all of the non-agriculture sectors. Total formal employment fell by 1 percent y-y, with the mining sector having increased formal employment by 4.1 percent.
