The construction labour force shrunk by 0.9 percent q-q in the 4th quarter of 2022, as formal employment fell 1.8 percent. This decline was offset by a stable informal labour force market. Compared to the same quarter in 2021, however, there was a 7 percent expansion in the labour force, an increase of close to 80 000 job opportunities. Construction however remains one of the sectors with the lowest improvement, compared to a national average increase in employment of 12 percent y-y.
