The composite CRMS index compiled by selected JSE listed companies that are involved in the local construction sector, declined by 1.9 percent m-m in January 2023 after ending flat in 2022. The suppliers index (supported by PPC) and the residential property fund index, ended stronger in January, while the composite contractors, retailers and non-residential property fund sub-indices all reported weaker market cap values.
